Since 1990s, people all over the world have witnessed the rapid development of manufacturing techniques of thermoplastic engineering plastics. In this aspect, UHMW-PE fiber is regarded as the special fiber of third generation in the world currently due to its excellent properties of good wear resistance ability, impact resistance ability, corrosion resistance ability, light resistance ability and so on.
In recent years, the wear-resistant material of polyethylene category which was developed by Dr. Conrado was reputed as “diamond resin” and currently its application in frictional damping devices is started.
Based on UHMW-PE, “diamond resin” has strong abilities in wearing resistance and anti-sliding friction which is as high as 27.3 times than that of stainless steel. Moreover, it is 17.9 times than that of phenolic resin and 6 times than that of nylon 6.
The damping of friction type is endowed with good consistency in terms of high and low temperature properties, since there is no silicone oil medium. Being reflected on torque performance, the difference is as low as 10%.
